Dance Department

If moving to music is in your blood, and you are attracted to the wonderful world of academic theatre dance (ballet), then you can be trained in this with the Dance Department of the Royal Conservatoire. In order to earn a place in one of the great (inter)national dance companies it is necessary to get intensive training from the age of ten, in which you will be dancing many hours every day. In this regard the comparison with sport at the highest level is a valid one. The remarkable atmosphere of the Dance Department and the world of the professional theatre have ensured for more than 50 years that students can realise their dream.

Our Dance Department is one of the schools where winners of the celebrated Prix de Lausanne, the international ballet competition in Switzerland, can study for free for one year.
