News and concerts

The Royal Conservatoire occupies a prominent place in the musical life of The Hague as co-initiator and inspiration behind numerous productions and festivals including the Sunday morning concerts in the Dr Anton Philipszaal, composer concerts in the Nutshuis and the Korzo Theater, the baroque concerts organised in association with Musica Antica in the Lutheran Church and the Dorpskerk in Voorschoten, the Big Band concerts, the Royal Conservatoire Chamber Music festival, the concerts given by the conservatoire’s Symphony Orchestra and for new music and performances The Spring Festival and the CASS evenings. Many of these events are also held in concert halls around the country.

On average, the Royal Conservatoire initiates and solely or jointly produces around 550 concerts, performances and presentations every year, half of them at venues outside the institute. Consequently, the conservatory is one of the foremost cultural institutions in The Hague.
