Call for papers

The Early Music Department and KC Jazz of the Royal Conservatoire, The Hague invite proposals for:

  • Individual paper: 20 minutes, including 5 minutes for Q&A
  • Short research pitch of 5 minutes (for students and recent alumni only)

Topics could concern, but are not limited to:

  • Historical approaches to improvisation
  • The improvisational state of mind
  • Models of improvisation
  • Improvisation as a teaching tool
  • Group improvisation / conversation

Applications should consist of a proposal of a maximum of 250 words, plus a title and a short biographical sketch, which can be sent by filling in this form.
