Erik Willems has performed and directed theatrical productions at, among others, Toneelgroep Amsterdam (ITA), the Noord Nederlands Toneel, and theater festivals such as de Parade, Festival de Boulevard, and Theater aan Zee.
In addition to creating and performing in productions, he has always enjoyed teaching, including at the Academy for Theater and Dance. He also provides Storytelling training in the business world. In addition to his classes at the KC, he also teaches stage presentation at the Amsterdam Conservatory.
Erik's classes cover everything you do on stage, except for singing ‘nicely’. Because singing nicely is nice, but not enough when you're on stage. In the classes, you investigate what your story is as a performer, you learn about the influence of body posture, how important it is to connect with your body and use and allow your emotions on stage.
