Peter Brunt

Peter Brunt studied violin at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam with Davina van Wely and Herman Krebbers. He subsequently studied at the Juilliard School in New York with Dorothy Delay. Brunt has also studied with Sandor Vegh.
Peter Brunt won the National Violin Competition Oskar Back in 1981. For a number of years he was leader of the second violins at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Subesquently he was concertmaster with the New Sinfonietta Amsterdam, and guest concertmaster with other orchestras.
In addition, Peter Brunt is active as a soloist with orchestras both in The Netherlands and abroad. He recorded a CD with the violin concerto that was written specially for him by Willem Jeths. Brunt is also active as a chamber musician. He plays in the Osiris Trio (a piano trio) with pianist Ellen Corver and cellist Larissa Groeneveld. With this trio he performs worldwide. They released many CDs with repertoire ranging from Joseph Haydn to new compositions which were specially written for the Osiris Trio.
Peter Brunt is principal study teacher at the conservatoires in The Hague and Amsterdam.
