Excellence scholarships for the best Masters candidates
If you are planning to follow a Master’s course at the Royal Conservatoire you might be eligible for one of the Excellence scholarships awarded by the Fund for Excellence of the Royal Conservatoire. The Fund for Excellence awards annual scholarships of €5,000 for the Master’s candidates who achieve the best grades in the entrance exams.

The entrance exam
Your entrance exam will be assessed by a committee composed of the head of the relevant department and the department’s teachers. Students who are awarded a grade of 10 will receive an Excellence scholarship. If you are awarded a grade of 9, the committee will deliberate to decide whether you will receive a scholarship. The decision will be based on a range of factors

Awarding of scholarships
The scholarships are ultimately awarded by the directorate of the Royal Conservatoire on the recommendation of the exam committees and the heads of departments. If you are selected for a scholarship you will be nominated to the executive board of the Fund for Excellence of the Royal Conservatoire. The procedure is completed in June or early July when you will receive official notification from the Fund for Excellence of the Royal Conservatoire that you have been awarded a scholarship. The Excellence scholarship is an annual sum that will continue for the nominal term of the course provided you make satisfactory progress with your studies.
