Welcome to the admission procedure for your course at the Royal Conservatoire.

Every step of the registration procedure is described and explained below and all you have to do is complete each step in the process.

Clicking on the + will reveal additional information. If you have any questions during the process, please contact the student administration office at studentadministration@koncon.nl.

Also check the general admission requirements, these are applicable to all admissions.

Start by collecting all the documents you will need for your entrance exam and your course.

  1. CV
  2. portfolio (see below)
  3. motivation letter

Candidates for the one-year Sonology course are required to write a motivation letter demonstrating their affinity with the discipline of Sonology. For the purpose of assessing your application, you must post a link to your previous work such as compositions, sound examples and previous research, etc. in Osiris Online Application. There is no live entrance exam.

The following applies to all recordings to be submitted:
Create a Word document containing a list of all the links to recordings. If you have your own website, YouTube, Vimeo or SoundCloud account, we would prefer that you post your recordings on that platform and include the link to it in the Word document. You will upload the Word document at the appropriate question in Osiris later in the procedure.

When you arrive at the Osiris Online Application website the first thing you have to do is select a language (Dutch or English). You then log on with the log-in details that were sent to you. Note: you should immediately change your password.

Go to Osiris

You have already collected all the documents you need during step 1 so you can now upload them all at once to Osiris.

When you have logged on to Osiris Online Application, answer the questions that appear. Some questions must be answered (or a document has to be uploaded) and they are marked with an asterisk. Other documents can be uploaded after you have been admitted to a course, but they must also be uploaded before you commence your studies.
If you are unable to upload all of the requested documents immediately, we will send you an occasional reminder.

Note: we can only arrange a date for your entrance exam when all the mandatory documents have been uploaded.

You can save your answers as you proceed. For your application for admission to become final you must not only save the questions in Osiris Online Application, but also click on ‘Send’.

The decision on whether you will be admitted is based on the information and the answers you have entered and the documents and audio and video recordings you have uploaded. The Student Administration will notify you by email whether you have been admitted.

If you are admitted, you must ensure that all the necessary documents are submitted.
Non-EU/EEA students have to submit the proof of their English language proficiency (see step English proficiency) before 1 September.

If you are admitted you will receive information via e-mail and Studielink about payment of tuition fees.

Only when you have fulfilled all registration requirements will you be enrolled as a student. So make sure that you have submitted all requested documents before 1 September.

Language proficiency
Bachelor and Master students must have sufficient command of both written and spoken English to follow their course at the Royal Conservatoire.

EU/EEA students

Students from EU/EEA countries whose proficiency in English is inadequate are obliged to follow a language course. If it is found during the admission procedure that your command of English is insufficient, you will be required to follow a course and obtain a certificate of proficiency during the first year of the course.

Non-EU/EEA students

If you have been admitted and you are from a country outside the EU (with exception of Canada, Australia, New-Zealand, United States of America or South Africa), you must demonstrate – before 1 September - that your level of English is sufficient to follow the course. You can demonstrate your command of English with your score on any of the following English language proficiency tests: IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or Cambridge English (FCE/CAE/CPE). The test scores are valid for two years and your score must be valid as of 1 September.

The minimum standard is a score of 6.0 in the IELTS test or level 80 in the TOEFL.

Certificates from the Institutional TOEFL test, the TOEFL ITP test or other language proficiency tests will not be accepted.
