The Dutch National Opera Academy performs a double programme in collaboration with the Residentie Orkest. Abstrakte Oper Nr. 1 by Boris Blacher is an experimental opera first performed in 1953. The libretto is by Werner Egk. Der Kaiser von Atlantis is a one-act opera composed by Viktor Ullmann with a libretto by Peter Kien. The artists wrote it in 1943, during World War II, in Theresienstadt concentration camp.

The Dutch National Opera Academy is a two-year master's programme for highly talented young opera singers, focusing on the integration of singing and acting. It is a partnership of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.
