On Saturday, June 18, 2022, New Music NOW organizes the first Composer Day with the motto Live the Composer! A celebration of new music. Music by composers active in the Netherlands can be heard throughout the country: not only in concert halls and theatres, but also from clock towers, on the street and in living rooms. From TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht there are talk shows and concerts. Media partners NTR and VPRO are reporting it live and New Music NOW is streaming all day long. Reporters from all over the country report on Composer's Day.

Feast of the music

During the Composer's Day, live programmes by composers, musicians, music lovers, stages, ensembles, companies take place all over the country – from intimate living room concerts to grand music events. The Composer's Day celebrates the vitality and diversity of new music in all its facets. Dozens of stages, 9 festivals and 25 ensembles from all over the country participate in the Composer's Day. Together with the composers, they form a broad network under the New Music NOW banner. Each organization presents a festive program in its own city or region with already 80 composers.
