Duo Coraline Groen en Robbrecht van Cauwenberghe – Radio West Concert

Coraline Groen (violin) and Robbrecht Van Cauwenberghe (bayan) form a unique duo with their combination of instruments and their energetic and natural style of performance. They met during their Bachelor’s course at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where they began performing together in 2014, initially in a trio with guitar. They later continued as a duo and have given concerts in the Netherlands, Austria and Belgium. They have worked with An Raskin, Vera Beths, Peter Brunt, Philippe Graffin, Asdis Valdimarsdottir and Martijn Padding. The duo concentrates mainly on repertoire written specially for their instrumentation, because of the remarkable result produced by the fusion of the sounds of the bajan and the violin. They regularly expand their existing repertoire by approaching composers to work with them in creating new music.

Radio West Concert
Once a month the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague will be hosting a Sunday afternoon concert, when students will display their talent for the general public and give a hint of what the future holds. The series of ten concerts encompasses classical music, early music and jazz with programmes designed to appeal to young and old. For just € 6, including a free drink, you can witness the emergence of a new generation of musicians in this country.

89.3 Radio West
For anyone who cannot attend the concerts, Radio West will broadcast each concert the following Sunday in the programme Classical op West, which can be heard between seven and nine o’clock in the morning and in the evening.
