Aralia Trio

Quasi Trio

The Quasi Trio was formed in 2014 and its original all-female line-up was awarded 2nd prize at the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Competition. Since 2015 its members have been Roman Hranička (violin), Judita Škodová (cello) and Kateřina Ochmanová (piano). They have been studying with the world-famous Trio Wanderer in Paris since September 2016 after they were accepted for a two-year residency, and since October 2017 they have been studying for a master’s degree in chamber music at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In addition to their professors at HAMU (Václav Bernášek, František Malý, Jindřich Pazdera, Ivo Kahánek), they also consult with Johannes Meissl, Vida Vujic and Peter Schuhmayer at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna. In May 2015 they participated in masterclasses in Grafenegg, Austria, where they had the opportunity to work with Avedis Kouyoumdjian (Austria), Peter Cropper (Great Britain) and Jerome Pernoo (Francie). In the summer of 2016 they were successful at the prestigious international courses of the ISA (International Summer Academy) in Reichenau an der Rax, Austria, where they were awarded ‘Best piano ensemble’ and performed at a concert for award-winners in the hall of ORF Austrian radio. In October of the same year they were also successful at the International Chamber Ensemble Competition in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where they were awarded 1st prize and a special recognition from the chair of the jury, Elmira Darvarova, former concertmaster at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
