During Festival Dag in de Branding, the venues and ensembles of The Hague introduce you to the newest music. They selected three talented alumni of the Royal Conservatoire as artists in residence: composers Thomas van Dun and Julian Maple-Oliveira, and harpist Michela Amici.

Three totally different makers who together provide a sample of what inspires the youngest generation. In May, they present the result of their residency: new works for Ensemble Klang and the New European Ensemble, and a new composition for harp by Amarante Nat.

Also in May, two years after the premiere in 2020, The Hague can finally see and experience Oboi, Che Melancolia by Klaas de Vries, one of the greatest Dutch composers of today. In the Nieuwe Kerk, you are now able to amble through the landscape of his expressive music, which he wrote especially for oboist Arthur Klaassens. Another composer who brings the whole room to life is Gabriel Paiuk, with his composition for Belgian master cellist Arne Deforce.
