A selected number of students of the Ensemble Academy is invited to join the New European Ensemble for an external production, to be performed in Den Bosch and the Nieuwe Kerk, The Hague.
Thanks in part to the Society of Friends, the Residentie Orkest was able to set up the One Minute Symphony project. Once or twice per year the Residentie Orchestra commissions composers from the Royal Conservatoire to write a One Minute Symphony XL.
For this concert, Composition student Annija Zarina will compose the One Minute Symphony XL.

As a co-production between the Ensemble Academy and the New European Ensemble, a selected number of students will play side-by-side to the New European Ensemble in occasion of the Lera Auerbach Festival organized in Amare in October 2023. The Festival was put together by Nederlands Kamerkoor, New European Ensemble, Royal Conservatoire The Hague, Festival Dag in de Branding, Amare and the Residentie Orkest.
The Academy will be discovering and practicing Auerbach’s repertoire for large ensemble along with professional players, and will perform in Amare's Concertzaal.
On 21 October 2023, composer Lera Auerbach reaches her fiftieth birthday. From 15 to 22 October, we celebrate this occasion with a festival in The Hague entirely dedicated to her. Lera Auerbach is a particularly versatile artist: a composer, but also a concert pianist, conductor, poet and visual artist. Her repertoire is richly varied – delicate and bold, worldly and sublime, contemporary and romantic – and is played on major international concert stages worldwide.
The multi-day festival in The Hague includes performances of her remarkable compositions, an exhibition of her sculptures and aphorisms, side-by-side projects with the Royal Conservatoire, lectures, and meetings.
