A new concert series
The School for Young Talent is organising a new concert series since 2022. Throughout the school year students from the Young KC Music department will be giving regular lunchtime concerts in Amare, usually on a Friday. This concert series will give visitors to Amare the chance to hear the talented young musicians performing in various constellations, from choirs and chamber music ensembles to soloists and jazz combos.

Most of the 30-minute lunchtime concerts (12.15 - 12.45) will take place in the Traptheater near the entrance to Amare. The complete list of concerts below also indicates the location of concerts being given in a different venue. The concerts are open to everyone and admission is free!

The School for Young Talent
A complete music education for young talent
Every child with a passion for music aspires to excellence. They spend countless hours practising intensively to master the technique of their instrument and to understand the inner secrets of the music.

The Royal Conservatoire’s School for Young Talent is a training ground for dedicated young musicians who wish to prepare for a professional career in dance, music or the fine arts, in combination with regular primary and/or secondary education.

Pleasure, challenge, quality
Young KC Music is the department for young musicians within the School for Young Talent. The department offers programmes in all the main instruments for jazz, early music and classical music, as well as singing and composition. The comprehensive programmes include lessons in the student’s main subject, piano, solfège, aural skills, ensemble singing and music theory, as well as time spent working with a coach pianist.

Programme

Students from both the lower and upper grades will present a diverse concert. Melisse (flute), Bilou (oboe), Kaixin (piano), and Naomi and Hanna-Sofia (harp) will perform music from all eras.

Archwood (jazz guitar) will play pieces from his conservatory audition program. Izaak (classical guitar) and Maya, Junqi, Ivy, and Ryan (piano) are preparing for competitions and their upcoming exams.

The jazz vocal class will present a program featuring solo repertoire and ensemble pieces.

The percussion and jazz vocal classes will come together for an interactive concert featuring music from Senegal, Brazil, and America.
