Cancelled: Muziek als Vak Masterclass Weekend

Event cancelled due to coronavirus

In order to curb a further outbreak of the coronavirus, the authorities immediately announced a ban on events involving more than 100 people. Until further notice, all public events at the Royal Conservatoire cannot be held.

Purchased concert tickets will be reimbursed. Current information can be found on this page.

The next Muziek als Vak Masterclass Weekend will take place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April.

As has become normal the past few years, this April edition will focus on music education for the primary school ages.

In a number of inspiring workshops we focus on Vocal development and singing in the classroom, and Songs & Games. You’ll also get the chance to work on your own musical skills in the Musicianship classes – offered on different levels. Of course, we once again start the Saturday morning with an optional session to brush up on your solfege skills!

We are proud to present a team of teachers almost all from the ‘Haagse school’: workshops are taught by Daniël Salbert, Suzanne Konings, Tim Tomassen, Anouk Vinders, Carolijn Moulen Janssen and Jaap Zwart.

Besides the workshop, we’ve organised two demonstration lessons. Children from Kathedrale Koorschool Utrecht and the international school in The Hague and their respective teachers will show their work with Kodály-based music education.

Because of continuous requests we once again zoom in on instrumental teaching based on the Kodály methodology. On the initiative of one of our alumni, we organise a ‘work session’ on Sunday morning, in which we share experiences, look at existing methodologies and compare notes on the topic.

Speaking of alumni, on Saturday evening there will be a special event for alumni of the Master Kodály Music Education and the Muziek als Vak course.

All in all, more than enough reason to join us in April! Visit the Muziek als Vak website, Get your tickets in the ticketshop and find the complete and detailed programme here.
