Prelude Rewire Festival - Daniel Teruggi and Nic Collins

Since the death of the composer and music critic Konrad Boehmer (1941–2014), the Konrad Boehmer Foundation has been active as an organization one of whose aims is to promote the practice and study of tendencies within modern music whose innovative character still has no institutional support. In 2016 the foundation established a Visiting Professorship at the Royal Conservatoire, inviting important composers and thinkers in the field of electroacoustic and modern music. So far, Trevor Wishart (UK), Horacio Vaggione (Argentina/France) and Nic Collins (US) have held the professorship, followed in 2019 by Peter Ablinger (Austria), Daniel Teruggi (Argentina/France) and again Collins.

As a prelude to the Rewire Festival in The Hague, a special concert will take place on 28 March 2019 in the Arnold Schönbergzaal of the Royal Conservatoire, in which Teruggi and Collins will perform classical and recent work on a large array of spatially distributed loudspeakers. Collins will also play an improvisation on trumpet and electronics together with the composer Gabriel Paiuk on piano.

The concert starts at 19.30 hrs and admission is free.
