The annual Spring Festival for new music, organised by the Composition department of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, has been a household name in the Netherlands and beyond for decades. The roots of the festival go back to 1967, when Dick Raaijmakers organised his first Rehearings in the former Conservatoire on the Beestenmarkt. The multidisciplinary nature of the event was ahead of its time. The festival continues to this day, with the latest generation of Composition students presenting their work. Through their performances, installations, concerts and spectacles, they demonstrate that the Composition department has not lost any of its radicalism and investigative attitude over the years.
During concerts of the Composition Department, you will hear new music that has not been played before. For this reason, the estimated end time of this concert may vary.
