Royal Early Music plays and dances: Francesco Geminiani (1687-1762) - The Enchanted Forest

Francesco Geminiani is one of the great but still unknown composers of the generation of Handel, Bach and Telemann. He established himself as an inspired and knowledgeable source for violin and viola, writing the famous textbook in the last 15 years of his life: The Art of Playing the Violin op. 9 (1759). With The Enchanted Forest (1754) Francesco Geminiani composed an extraordinary pantomime ballet, which is a classic example of baroque program music.
