The string octet Roctet is celebrating its eight-year anniversary! This momentous milestone will also be celebrated in The Hague. Roctet opens the concert with César Franck's symphonic poem Psyché et Éros, in an arrangement by Henk de Vlieger. This is the prelude to a unique programme in which Roctet connects Composition students Archie Tulk, Thijmen Krijgsman and Alberto Tombolan with the eminent Dutch composer Theo Loevendie, an internationally acclaimed composer, a living legend of Dutch classical music and former teacher at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Prior to this concert, Roctet's musicians will engage in conversation with each composer, exchanging experiences gained during the composition process.
After the break, the audience will be treated to a vibrant masterpiece by the then only 16-year-old Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. Roctet's debut CD 'Novoselye/Housewarming', which included this string octet, garnered notable interest, not only from the Dutch media, but also from international press.
