The study of early music is so much more than becoming a virtuoso performer on your instrument. The early music movement itself is synonymous with research and entrepreneurship, and much of this tradition started at the more than 50-year-old Early Music Department of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.

The Ton Koopman Academy offers students an excellent opportunity to boost their artistic development in a short period of time. A group of excellent students will have the chance to immerse themselves for five days in a program of individual lessons, chamber music, coaching and workshops at the highest level.

For the first time, this year the Academy will be a collaboration between The Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts Brno and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. During the Academy Ton Koopman and renown teachers from these three early music departments join forces.

At the Ton Koopman Academy we will focus on the three pillars of the education of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague:

• Excellent artistic development
• Inspiring artistic research
• Effective artistic entrepreneurship

Ton Koopman and the teaching team will invite students to join the complete Academy for a symbolic amount of €50 only, including all dinners.
