Dance department
If dancing is in your blood and you feel a strong attraction to the fascinating world of ballet and modern dance, our Dance programme is for you. To reach the pinnacle of dancing with one of the major national or international dance companies, you have to start training by the age of ten. Dancing is an art form, but the physical demands made on performers are similar to those of top-class athletes. We train talented dancers for a future career as creative and independent artists, with an open mind, craftsmanship, passion and ambition.
The Royal Conservatoire’s Dance Department has close associations with leading Dutch dance companies, including Dutch National Ballet, Introdans, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and, in particular, Nederlands Dans Theater. Its international partners include Prix de Lausanne, Assemblée Internationale (National Ballet School in Toronto, Canada), Gailene Stock Memorial Award and S&H Centre (Tokyo, Japan).
