Kluster5 is een ensemble consisting of alumni of the Royal Conservatoire. On the 15th of April they performed four world premieres written by young Dutch composers, among two 'old' pieces which are written a few years ago.

The title of the programme was The Hague Essentials referring to the roots of the ensemble as well as the composers.

Kluser5 asked each of the composers, all (ex-) students of Martijn Padding, head of the composition department of the Royal Conservatoire, to write a piece based on their experiences in the first lockdown.

Padding stated that he was very proud of his students.

Max van Platen - Kermis in de Hel (world premiere)

Amarante Nat - Carousel (world premiere)

Thomas van Dun - Lockdown Pressure (world premiere)

Martijn Padding - Small Goodbye Song
