Ryan Bancroft has won the Malko Competition, an important Danish conducting competition. He graduated from the Royal Conservatoire in the National Master Orchestral Conducting in 2017.
The competition had 566 contestants. Ryan won First Prize, as well as the Audience Prize. He conducted the first movement of Brahms’ Second Symphony in the finals in Copenhagen. The jury was impressed with the young conductor’s hearty performance.
Ryan receives €20,000, bookings from 24 orchestras around the world, three years of mentoring from Fabio Luisi and one year’s careers guidance from Jennifer Spencer.
