Music in Education celebrates MuziekopleidersAkkoord - collaboration with the Caribbean
14 October 2024
On 9 October, Meer muziek in de klas, together with conservatoires and pabos, celebrated the four-year anniversary of the MuziekopleidersAkkoord. This agreement, which links conservatoires and pabos in the Netherlands, aims to support and inspire each other in training music teachers.
During the festive day celebrating the MuziekopleidersAkkoord, the Royal Conservatoire's Music in Education programme was also present. The programme gave an insight into the close cooperation it has with countries in the Dutch Caribbean.
Shannon Bueno, alumnus of the Music in Education programme, shared her experiences of returning to Aruba to work as a music teacher at the teacher training college. Amber van Iperen, fourth-year Music in Education student, talked about her upcoming internship in Aruba, which starts at the end of October. Study leader Suzan Overmeer explained the programme's cooperation activities and future plans, and Jeremy Garcia, third-year Music in Education student, taught the audience a self-written song in Papiamento.
