Huug de Deugd new Chair of Executive Board of University of The Arts The Hague

The Supervisory Board is pleased to announce that, after a rigorous selection procedure, Huug de Deugd has been appointed as the new Chair of the Executive Board of the University of The Arts The Hague with effect from 1 September 2022. De Deugd succeeds Henk van der Meulen who will step down from his position as chair and continue as principal of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague from the same date.

De Deugd is an experienced manager who has made an important contribution to strengthening the quality culture at Inholland, the university of applied sciences where he has worked for many years. His experience with such critical topics as quality of education, social security, diversity and inclusion correspond well with current issues in art education.

As chair and single person Executive Board, he holds ultimate responsibility for both the Royal Academy of Art and the Royal Conservatoire, The Hague.
