Royal Conservatoire opens its doors for Open Day on 30 November

This year, for the first time in fall, the Royal Conservatoire is opening its doors for an Open Day. On Saturday 30 November all departments will be present to showcase what the Royal Conservatoire stands for to future students. But there's more.

Programme

All departments will host their own programme in the various studios on the 4th and 6th floors of Amare. There will be general presentations, Q&A sessions, public lessons and masterclasses, including one by conductor Jac van Steen. Additionally, visitors can shop our merchandise and visit the continuous information market in Club 4, which will be open throughout the day beyond the scheduled info sessions. The try-outs that will take place throughout the building have already closed for registration.

Live music

Live music is a key part of the Open Day. Various departments will provide musical showcases in the Conservatoriumzaal, including a performance by the Dutch National Opera Academy for the very first time. The lovely KC Jazz Big Band will close the day there. A choir from the Vocal Studies Department will perform in the late morning and early afternoon near Amare’s front entrance on the Turfmarkt side. In Club 4, an Open Stage will take place from 15.00 to 16.00, where our own students can perform acoustically for ten minutes without prior registration, using either the available piano or their own instrument.

Conservatoire around The Hague

New this year is a collaboration with several key locations in The Hague. A selection of our students will perform at various times during the day at Central Station, the Central Library, the Royal Academy of Art (KABK), and shopping center De Passage.

For those who can’t make it in person, we’re providing a livestream via our social media channels. A reporter will visit all the departments and capture the vibe of the day.
