After the success of the inaugural edition in 2018, the Royal Conservatoire will again host the Ton Koopman Academy in 2019. The Ton Koopman Academy is a four-day intensive under the leadership of renowned harpsichordist, organist, and conductor, Ton Koopman. The Academy is open to students currently completing, or already in possession of, a Master of Early Music.

During this week, participants have the opportunity to work with Ton Koopman and a team of leading specialists in the field of early music. The Academy aims to develop the artistic skills and scientific knowledge of researcher-performer musicians to a high international level. In addition to lessons on individual instruments, there will also be ensemble lessons, and round table discussions focusing on historical research and other key topics associated with historical performance practice. The intensive week will culminate in a performance given by the participants.

The Academy will take place from 23rd - 26th April 2019 at the Akoesticum in Ede. Lessons, accommodation, and catering will be provided onsite. Applications for the Ton Koopman Academy 2019 are now open. The deadline is set on 1st January 2019.
