‘Playing in a fantastic baroque orchestra and travelling the world with it would be a dream come true for me.’ Dante plays recorder and traverso and is in the first year of his Bachelor’s course in the Early Music department.

‘Like many people, I started playing the recorder in primary school. I enjoyed it so much that I have never stopped.’ Dante learned about the Royal Conservatoire at an Open Day. ‘I loved the atmosphere here from the very first moment. Studying here seemed like a fantastic idea.’ After graduating from the School for Young Talent, Dante is now following the Bachelor’s programme in the Early Music department. ‘What I really like about my classes is that there is always room to form your own opinion.’

With students and alumni of the Royal Conservatoire, Dante has formed a recorder quartet in which he frequently plays. He loves the sound of the recorder and the traverso. ‘I feel that both instruments are close to the human voice. The pure, true sound that the instruments make. You can’t hide anything, but I enjoy that challenge.’
