‘I want to excel in my craft.’ Sofie is a Bachelor’s student in the Art of Sound programme, specialising in Sound Reinforcement.

‘I play the flute, but didn’t really enjoy just studying the instrument. In Art of Sound, you are also working with the technology behind the music.’ Sofie specialises in Sound Reinforcement, which involves learning about sound direction and sound design. ‘With Sound Reinforcement, you work with others in preparing a performance and I love working in a team. There is always the tension that things could go wrong and you won’t be able to fix them. The feeling of being part of a team is then really important.’

There are a lot of men on this course. ‘That it is probably for the same reason that many boys choose courses likes Physics. This course is also quite technical, but it is precisely the combination of music and technology that I find so interesting.’
