The entrance exam consists of a practical and a theoretical part. You will have to be successful in both parts in order to secure a place.
Practical exam:
- a work from teh period before 1700, if possible by Sweelinck;
- J.S. Bach: a Praeludium and Fuga, a part from a trio sonata and a chorale prelude with a decorated cantos firmus (cantus coloratus);
- a work by Franck, Mendelsson or Reger;
- a work from the 20th and 21st century;
- the candidate can choose a piece for improvisation.
Theory exam:
- a written hearing test
- a written test in general music theory
- an individual practical solfège test
