The entrance exam consists of a practical and a theoretical part. You will have to be successful in both parts in order to secure a place.

Practical exam:

  • a work from teh period before 1700, if possible by Sweelinck;
  • J.S. Bach: a Praeludium and Fuga, a part from a trio sonata and a chorale prelude with a decorated cantos firmus (cantus coloratus);
  • a work by Franck, Mendelsson or Reger;
  • a work from the 20th and 21st century;
  • the candidate can choose a piece for improvisation.

Theory exam:

  • a written hearing test
  • a written test in general music theory
  • an individual practical solfège test
