Αngeliki Ploka started her studies in piano, singing and music theory in Greece and received her degree in Musicology/Music Education from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Gr). Her thesis in systematic musicology “The choral music of Eric Whitacre: Analysis of three representative works”, based on Schenkerian and reductive analysis, was awarded first-class honours.

Later on, as a recipient of the Sarolta Kodály Scholarship and the A.Onassis Scholarship, she continued her studies at the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Hungary. Angeliki completed her postgraduate studies in choir conducting and music pedagogy with a master research “Two-part Singing Exercises based on Greek Folksongs”. In her research she studied the Greek folksongs and provided her own arrangements for two-part voices according to Z. Kodály’s pedagogical compositions.

Since 2009 Angeliki has applied the principals of Z. Kodály’s philosophy in teaching pre-school music, music theory/solfege, piano and is regularly invited to lead seminars/workshops for music teachers at the Music Village/International Music Community in Greece. Angeliki teaches at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague (music theory, aural skills and analysis, ensemble leading and choir) and at the Nationale Koren - Vocaal Talent Nederland.
