Bob Wijnen is a pianist of great sensitivity and depth, but doesn't fear that gut feeling which is essential for jazz. Much in demand as an accompanist, he is known for having some of the best ears around, as well as being an elegant and adventurous soloist who has absorbed a great deal of the history of jazz piano. His debut-CD NYC Unforeseen, with Peter Bernstein, Dezron Douglas and Billy Drummond, got many positive reviews (Downbeat Magazine and others). From there he travelled to the city that gave birth to jazz: New Orleans. During the pandemic, Wijnen got into broadcasting live from “Bob's Piano Bar” on Facebook and YouTube. His most popular video gained more than 20.000 views.
