Janet Krause

Main subject teacher violin and orchestral parts (Classical Department)

Janet Krause studied violin with Lorand Fenyves at the University of Toronto, where she obtained Cum Laude in her Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance. She continued her studies with Davina van Wely at the Conservatorium in Amsterdam, where she obtained her soloist diploma. As well as her current post as leader of the Residentie Orkest The Hague, she has for many years been concertmaster of the Arion Ensemble, with which she has also regularly performed as soloist. Janet Krause participated in festivals throughout Europe as member of the Salzburger Soloists. She is leader of the Dufy Kwartet, with which she studied in London with members of the Amadeus Quartet. Various composers have dedicated work to the Dufy Quartet, and this ensemble has performed frequently in Europe and recorded numerous CDs.
