Mariëtte Redel

Teacher Classical Ballet

Mariëtte Redel received her training in dance at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. During her twenty-year career, she danced with major companies including the Scapino Ballet, the Zurich Ballet, the Gulbenkian Ballet and Nederlands Dans Theater. In 1990, she received the Encouragement Award of the Dansersfonds ’79.

She has performed a highly diverse repertoire and worked with choreographers including Mats Ek, Jiří Kylián, Hans van Manen, Ohad Naharin, Johan Inger, Cristal Pite, Meryl Tankard, Paul Lichtfoot/Sol Leon, Jorma Elo, Stijn Celis, Regina van Berkel, Lionel Hoche, Rui Horta, Armando Navarro, Nils Christe, Ed Wubbe, Rodrigo Pederneiras, Angelin Preljocaj, Nicholas Beriozoff, Bernd Bienert and Heinz Spoerli.

Since 2007, she has pursued a career as a teacher of creative dance and classical ballet at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. In addition to her teaching, she coaches students in productions of Repertoire Dutch School like Hans van Manen, Jiří Kylián and Nils Christe. Besides teaching at the Royal Conservatoire, Mariëtte Redel has also taught repertoire at the Maximum Dance Summer Course (2007-2010) and the Dutch Summer Dance Course (2011-2019).
