Peter Adriaansz (*1966) writes music that is characterised by a systematic, research-driven approach whose primary ingredients are sound, form and audible mathematics. Since 2005, his work has also reflected a deepening interest in flexibility, variable forms and – above all – microtonal reflection. This latter interest has led, among other things, to a number of grand compositions for amplified ensembles, works for orchestra and voices, two large-scale series about spatial harmony and micro-acoustics and many specially commissioned (electro)acoustic works.
