Thomas de Baets is professor and coordinator of the music pedagogy programme at LUCA School of Arts in Leuven, Belgium. There he is also chairman of the research group for music education and coordinator of the research team MELAB - Music Education Laboratory at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He studied at the Lemmens Institute in music education and after going through the trainingdocARTES at the Orpheus Institute in Ghent, he promoted at the University of Leuven. His main interest is practitioner's research in music education.
