Gary McPherson at Royal Conservatoire The Hague

From the 26th until the 28th of November Gary McPherson will host a guest lecture and workshops for Master and Bachelor Music Education students.

Gary McPherson is Ormond Professor of Music at the Melbourne Conservatory of Music. He has published over 200 articles and book chapters and (co)edited some of the most prominent publications in music education like The Oxford Handbook of Music Education (2012, 2108), the Child as Musician: A Handbook of Musical Development (2006, 2016) and Musical Prodigies: Interpretations from Psychology, Education, Musicology and Ethnomusicology (2016).

A joint seminar is aiming at bringing together master students from different (international) institutes to share and exchange knowledge regarding the teaching practice of music education. The seminar focusses both on discussing issues related to music education and research strategies. The topic of the seminar is instrumental and vocal teaching and (teaching) practicing in particular. The research strategies are related to practitioner’s research.

The discussions and lectures will also be joined by teachers of the Master Specialisation Instrumental Vocal Learning & Teaching:
