Composer Portrait

Noncerti (Richard Ayres & Silvia Borzelli) - Ensemble Academie & Ensemble Klang

The Composer Portrait is an annual project by the Contemporary Ensemble Academy in the Classical Music Department, co-produced with Ensemble Klang since 2023.
Over the course of two intensive weeks, students work on contemporary repertoire under the guidance of conductors, musicians and composers – sometimes with, sometimes without a conductor.
A key part of the project is a side-by-side performance by students and Ensemble Klang musicians. Composers are closely involved in every step, from rehearsal to performance and recording.
The project offers students valuable insights into the creative process, artistic context and professional practice of contemporary music-making.

This project is in collaboration with the students from the Art of Sound department.

The programme starts at 19.00 on the Traptheater on the ground floor of Amare, you can join this concert freely. Thereafter the concert continues at 20.00 in the Conservatoriumzaal on the 4th floor, for this part you need to reserve a ticket.
