The Royal Conservatoire is a founding partner of IN.TUNE – Innovative Universities in Music & Arts in Europe, the first European University Alliance dedicated exclusively to music and the arts.

Alongside seven leading institutions – the Norwegian Academy of Music Oslo, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya Barcelona, Uniarts Helsinki – Sibelius Academy, National University for Music Bucharest and the University of Arts Belgrade – we are working to transform higher music education at a European scale.

The alliance is built around four main objectives:

  • Education – developing joint programmes, new mobility schemes and innovative learning formats.
  • Research and Innovation – connecting research through shared “knowledge hubs” and cross-border projects.
  • Societal Engagement – exploring how music and the arts can contribute to communities and contemporary cultural life.
  • Institutional Development and Quality Assurance – aligning governance, assessment and professional development to strengthen quality across Europe

Through IN.TUNE, students and staff at the Royal Conservatoire become part of a pioneering European network of eight leading institutions. The alliance offers opportunities for international collaboration, mobility, research and innovation – preparing artists for a truly global future.

A large number of Associated Partners, including the European Association of Conservatoires (AEC), support IN.TUNE with expertise in the fields of research and social engagement and connect the consortium to different areas of Europe's cultural and social life.
