There are various scholarships available for students who wish to come to study at the Royal Conservatoire or students of the Royal Conservatoire who would like to spend a period studying abroad.

If you are looking for financial assistance and are not eligible for any of the scholarships mentioned on this page, there are a number of national funds that also provide scholarships. The Student Counsellor Elke de Roos will be able to assist with your application.

Students who wish to follow a Master’s programme and perform excellently in the entrance exam could qualify for a scholarship.

There are three types of scholarship:

  • The Holland Scholarship (HS) for students from outside the EU.
  • A scholarship from the Fund for Excellence of the Royal Conservatoire (FFE), for excellent students of every nationality.
  • A scholarship from the Residentie Orkest for participants in the Orchestra Master.

Although the eligibility rules and conditions of the scholarships vary, in every case the result is that the Royal Conservatoire’s tuition fees are covered.
The total number of Holland Scholarships and Fund for Excellence Scholarships available for the 2020/2021 academic year is eight (8). The number of scholarships offered by the Residentie Orkest depends on the quality of the auditions.
The winners of the Holland Scholarships and Fund for Excellence scholarships will be announced by the Conservatoire’s Principal on the nomination of the heads of department by no later than 1 July.

It is not possible to be awarded more than one of the scholarships above.
