Alumnus Elias Boersma has been promoted to Senior Dancer at Ballet Theater Basel, the youngest dancer to accomplish this in the history of the ensemble.

Elias was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He began his dance training during elementary and secondary school at the School for Young Talent of the Royal Conservatoire, continuing his studies in the Bachelor of Arts program where he received his bachelor's degree in dance in 2019. As part of his training, he completed an internship at Scapino Ballet Rotterdam. Elias has been a member of the Ballet Theater Basel in Switzerland since 2019. Throughout his training and professional career he danced in works by Sharon Eyal, Alexander Ekman, Johann Inger, Hans van Manen, Jiří Kylián, Richard Wherlock, Ed Wubbe, and Leon / Lightfoot. Among others Elias received the Dutch sponsorship award of Dansersfonds '79.
