Sabine Chaland new teacher at KC Dance

We warmly welcome Sabine Chaland as our new classical ballet teacher. She will be teaching ballet group VII/VIII.

Sabine Chaland began her training in France and completed it at the Vaganova Academy in Leningrad. In 1990 she joined Dutch National Ballet, where as a principal dancer she performed numerous roles in both major classical productions and works by Van Manen, Balanchine, Pastor, Eagling, Dawson, MacMillan, Cranko, and others. From 2000 she danced for two seasons with Boston Ballet. Sabine Chaland also appeared regularly as a guest soloist with Scottish Ballet.

In addition, she developed herself as a ballet teacher, and after ending her active dancing career, she taught and coached dancers in the U.S., Canada, and Japan. From 2005 through 2007 she worked with Ballets Jazz de Montréal, and from 2007 through 2010 she was ballet master at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

Furthermore, Sabine graduated from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing Sciences and is trained in the Breath-Body-Mind method.
