Trio Tenorizans Wins Early Music Ensemble Competition in Potsdam

9 July 2026

Royal Conservatoire alumni Trio Tenorizans has won the Wettbewerb für Ensembles der Alten Musik 2026 at the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci. The ensemble consists of Władysław Lech (historical clarinet), Antonio Pellegrino (historical cello) and Agata Sorotokin (fortepiano).

The competition brought together 21 promising early music ensembles, with four finalists selected to perform before both a live audience and a professional jury chaired by recorder player and conductor Dorothee Oberlinger. Trio Tenorizans was awarded first prize, earning an invitation to perform at the 2027 edition of the festival.

For the competition, the trio presented In einen Salon der Klassik, a programme inspired by the wit and elegance of commedia dell’arte and opera buffa. The programme featured works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Ferdinand Ries, Anton Eberl and their contemporaries, showcasing the ensemble’s engaging and historically informed approach to Classical repertoire.

Congratulations to Władysław, Antonio and Agata on this wonderful achievement. We wish Trio Tenorizans every success as they prepare to return to the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci in 2027.
