Hanna Guirten was born in Voorburg, the Netherlands. She studied at the Young KC and completed her undergraduate studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Herman Jeurissen. In 2014 she studied at the Conservatory of Cologne for an Erasmus exchange project with Paul van Zelm. For the master's degree, she studied at the Hochschule für Musik “Frans Liszt” in Weimar with Jörg Brückner.
In 2018 she was solo horn player in the European Youth Orchestra, where she also received an award for “Outstanding Musicianship.” In the Season 2017-2018 she was a tutti hornist with the Staatskapelle Weimar and since August 2018 she is solo hornist with the Noord Nederlands Orkest in Groningen. Hanna also plays regularly as (solo) hornist with many Dutch orchestras such as Het Residentieorkest, the PHION, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. She also occasionally gives concerts in chamber music settings.
