School for Young Talent in top ten best secondary schools

Our School for Young Talent made it to the top ten of best secondary schools in South Holland. The school has received a great review, and especially the attention and time we have for our students.

New at the Royal Conservatoire

Starting from September 2015 the KC welcomes three new staffmembers. Bassoon teacher Bram van Sambeek, coordinator auditions Sacha Steenks and coordinator of the Classical Music department Wim Vos.

From September 2015: shortened training Music Teaching

Students with a Bachelor diploma in music, instrumental/vocal, composition or sonology can take a shortened training in Music Teaching.

New international double degree 'Audio Communication and Sonology'

From the winter semester 2014/15 began a new double master’s degree programme “Audio Communication and Sonology”, as a cooperation between the TU Berlin and the Institute of Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

New design brings life to the Spui quarter

The tendering procedure for the development of the Spui quarter has been won by the Boele van Eesteren/Visser Smit Bouw consortium, with Patrick Fransen of Architecture Studio HH and Jo Coenen Architects & Urbanists as architects.

Johannes Vermeer Award goes to Michel van der Aa

Alumnus Michel van der Aa has been awarded the prestigious Johannes Vermeer Award, the Dutch state prize for the arts. The prize jury were unanimous in their decision, and their report praised Van der Aa for his “ground-breaking role in music, both in the Netherlands and internationally, and his surefootedness in combining his musical idiom with movement, film, the internet, theatre, electronics, and visual elements,” Congratulations!

Reinier Wink wins Koninkijk Concertgebouw Concours 2015

Reinier Wink (12) has won the Koninklijk Concertgebouw Concours 2015. He receives a trophy and €1000 prize money to spend on his education.

Prize winners EGTA soloconcours

Students Robin Ros and George Reijnders (both study with Enno Voorhorst) won prizes during the EGTA soloconcours. Robin Ros won the first prize in the category 'born in 1993 or earlier' and George won the first prize and the prize of the audience in the conservatory category.

Peter Adriaansz wins Matthijs Vermeulenprijs 2015

Peter Adriaansz, teacher at the Composition department, has won the Matthijs Vermeulenprijs 2015 with his composition 'Scala II'. Congratulations!

Next season: Radio West concerts in de Nieuwe Kerk

The last coffee concert took place at the Dr Anton Philipszaal. Next season, the coffee concerts change into tea concerts on Sunday at 16.00 hrs in de Nieuwe Kerk.
