The Chamber Music Festival at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague is an intensive week dedicated to collaboration, artistic exchange and performance. Throughout the festival, the conservatoire becomes a vibrant musical hub, with lessons, workshops, lectures, rehearsals and concerts taking place across multiple locations.

Students work alongside teachers, guest artists and leading chamber ensembles from across the Netherlands. Alumni ensembles, including the Animato Quartet and Brackman Trio, return to share their experience with a new generation of musicians. Collaborations with ensembles such as the Calefax Reed Quintet also highlight the richness of the Dutch chamber music tradition.

This edition welcomes the internationally acclaimed Bozzini Quartet as ensemble in residence and composer Cassandra Miller as composer-in-residence. Concerts will also take place at venues across The Hague.

A central element of the festival is collaboration. Students work side by side with teachers and professional musicians in chamber music ensembles ranging from sextets and octets to larger mixed ensembles, including nonets.

Alongside rehearsals and performances, the programme includes Meet the Professionals sessions, giving students insight into professional careers and the wider music profession.

The festival also extends beyond the walls of the Royal Conservatoire, with concerts taking place at venues across The Hague. In addition, the festival hosts an ECMA Day, looking ahead to a future collaboration with the European Chamber Music Academy and a future ECMA session connected to the festival.
