Andriessens Hout and Dances - Theo Bruins Prize Ceremony

A tribute to composer Louis Andriessen, four years after his passing. Music writer Jacqueline Oskamp presents her new biography Groots is de liefde and receives the Theo Bruins Prize from alderwoman Saskia Bruines for her outstanding contribution to Dutch music. The event features two works by Andriessen. Ensemble Klang opens with the energetic Hout, featuring Joey Marijs on marimba and woodblocks. The afternoon concludes with Dances for chamber orchestra and soprano, performed by Asko|Schönberg, students from the Royal Conservatoire and soprano Claron McFadden – for whom Andriessen wrote numerous works.
