For almost fifteen years, the Royal Conservatoire has been the leading centre for music education and Kodály teacher training in the Netherlands. Since 2012, it has built a strong tradition in Kodály music education, with dozens of graduates from its Kodály master's programme, a thriving Saturday course and the popular Music as a Subject Masterclass Weekends.
As part of the Royal Conservatoire's 200th anniversary celebrations, this successful format expands into the XL Music as a Subject Masterclass Weekend.
During this special edition, we will spend three days immersing ourselves in inspiring and practical workshops, in-depth sessions, new repertoire ideas, teaching approaches and the popular Songs & Games, to sing together and exchange experiences. Alumni will present work they have developed during their studies and in educational practice in the Netherlands and abroad. Alongside the Royal Conservatoire teaching team, guest tutors including Árpád Tóth will share their expertise.
The weekend is intended for music teachers and anyone working with, or interested in, music education. Whether you have years of experience with the Kodály approach or are discovering it for the first time, this XL weekend offers inspiration, deeper insight and renewed energy.
