During Segbroek Serenade, students from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague take their work into the Segbroek district. As part of the Explore New Playgrounds project week, second-year bachelor’s students explore how they can contribute to society as artists and connect with new audiences.
Working alongside local residents, community organisations and cultural partners, they create performances that reflect the neighbourhood and its people. These collaborations result in distinctive presentations at a variety of locations throughout Segbroek.
Segbroek Serenade demonstrates how music and performance can bring people together. Students engage with the local community, share their artistic ideas and develop performances created both for and with residents.
