The Sonology Discussion Concerts have long been a leading platform for electroacoustic music in the Netherlands. These evenings feature works by students, electronic music classics and compositions by international guest composers. The concerts take place in the Conservatoriumzaal, using high-end sound equipment and exceptional acoustics.
The concerts are an essential part of the curriculum at the Institute of Sonology of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. Students are responsible for the full production of the concerts as part of the course Sound Engineering in Electronic Music. In the week following each concert, the programme is discussed during the weekly colloquium led by a member of the teaching staff.
